UReCA has updated it with the Connect Database, outside research opportunities and a submission link for local employers needing research assistants.

Join the Undergraduate Research and Creative Activity Hub’s (UReCA) second Lunch & Learn session from noon to 1 p.m. Wednesday, March 26 at 106/107 Wichita State Connect. Arrive by 11:45 a.m. for lunch.

The event is open to all students and faculty. Enjoy a catered lunch and gain valuable information from the three panelists: Jennifer Jones, municipal court chief judge; Gwynne Birzer, United States Magistrate judge; Jacqueline Kelly, 18th Judicial District Court judge.. The discussion will offer the audience information on the importance of legal research in aiding judges in making decisions from the bench.

The Undergraduate Research and Creative Activity Hub (UReCA) invites students and faculty to participate in the Connect Database. The purpose of the program is to connect undergraduate students and faculty to conduct research.

Join the Undergraduate Research and Creative Activity Hub (UReCA) open house from 2 to 3 p.m. Tuesday, March 4 in 125A Ablah Library. Learn more about its services, ongoing projects and goals to increase undergraduate research in Shocker Nation. Meet the director, Dr. Michael Birzer, and the academic program specialist, Estella Armenta. Refreshments will be provided.

Join the Undergraduate Research and Creative Activity Hub’s (UReCA) first ever lunch and learn session from noon to 1 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 12 in 120 Ablah Library, Collaboration Hub. The event is open to all students and faculty.

Enjoy a catered lunch and gain valuable information from the three panelists: Audra Morgan, Office of Tech Transfer and Commercialization; Nathan Smith, Project Innovation Hub; and Richard Sack, College of Engineering. The discussion will offer the audience information on the Project Innovation Hub, Gateway to IP Program and offer practical research and creative endeavors.

The Kansas Undergraduate Research Day at the Capitol event is an annual opportunity for students to present their research experiences with state lawmakers and campus leaders in Topeka. All currently enrolled undergraduate students in good academic standing are eligible. Students in all majors and of all nationalities are encouraged to apply.

The event showcases the work of up to 40 Kansas undergraduate student projects representing each of the state’s eight public four-year institutions. The event aims to demonstrate the unique opportunities undergraduate students have to participate with faculty members in research at all state institutions and emphasizes higher education’s role in developing educated citizens and preparing a workforce with the necessary skills to further the economic growth of the state.

The Cohen Honors College will coordinate travel and pay for all expenses. Students are invited to submit a research abstract or brief description of creative activity here by 5 p.m. Jan. 28.
