Misophonia is a condition characterized by decreased tolerance for certain trigger sounds (e.g. chewing, breathing, etc.).

Participants must have normal hearing, be right handed and have no history of neurological disorders. The study consists of a single, approximately two-hour visit. Compensation is available.

The Human Performance Laboratory is recruiting participants for an ongoing research study titled “Comparative Effects of Low-Load Resistance Exercise with Blood Flow Restriction and Electrical Stimulation on Sensory Modulation.”

The purpose of this study is to evaluate the physiological responses that occur after completing exercise with blood flow restriction and a therapeutic electrical stimulation treatment. This study involves a total of seven visits. There are three intervention sessions that each last between 30 and 60 minutes. These sessions involve completing leg extensions with blood flow restriction, receiving a therapeutic electrical stimulation treatment or a control visit.

After each intervention, participants will return for a brief follow-up visit about eight hours after the intervention. Participants can earn up to $30 for completing all visits.
