Enrollment is open for spring 2023 badge courses. Badges are academic short courses of one credit hour or less that are designed for working, non-degree seeking professionals.

Each badge is designed with the practicing professional in mind, so coursework can be completed online and at one’s own pace. Badges allow members to demonstrate their knowledge, skills and competency in a variety of subject areas:

• Business Badges
• Behavioral Science Badges
• Engineering Badges
• Healthcare Badges

Members who successfully complete a badge course will receive digital recognition of their accomplishment that they can share on social media and link to a digital resume.

Celebrate your graduation with a photo booth sponsored by the Commencement Office from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 15 in the Lancelot Room of the RSC (room 203).

Grads and friends can get their photos taken, create a GIF and have it instantly delivered via email or text. Props and regalia will be provided.

Wichita State will be enforcing a clear-bag policy for all graduates, guests, volunteers, faculty and staff at the commencement ceremonies.

The following outlines bags that are permitted:

• Bags that are clear plastic, vinyl or PVC and do not exceed 14x6x14 inches
• One-gallon clear plastic storage bags (Ziploc bag or similar)
• Small clutch or purse, with or without a handle or strap, that does not exceed 5.5×7.5 inches

Volunteers are needed to help with the Fall 2022 Commencement ceremony for all colleges, being held Dec. 18.

All volunteers should plan to be at Charles Koch Arena from 12:30-4:30 p.m. Volunteers will be fed well and enjoy a great time with a fun group of people as you welcome guests and graduates to this event. Check with student organizations you are a member of or your department to see if there are even more benefits to your participation.

The fall 2022 Commencement Ceremony will take place at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 18, at Charles Koch Arena. All graduates intending to walk in the ceremony must file their application for degree (AFD) by Oct. 1.

An RSVP email will go out to all students with an AFD on file Monday, Oct. 10. For more information, visit Wichita State’s Commencement FAQ page.
