The Department of Biological Sciences’ fall 2025 Seminar Series continues Monday, Sept. 8. The seminar is from 4 to 5 p.m. in 218 Hubbard Hall with Dr. Stephanie Manka, Fancy Scientist, LLC. She will give a public lecture titled, “Science, Shifts, and Self-Discovery: Finding and following your unique career path.”

He will give a public lecture titled, “Assessing monitoring techniques and habitat use to make data-driven decisions for management of the threatened regal fritillary butterfly.”

Applications are now being accepted for undergraduate research support during the spring semester from the Kansas IDeA Network of Biomedical Research Excellence (K-INBRE) program. Students in this program are supported with an hourly wage for a ten-week period and mentors are allocated funds for lab supplies.

To be eligible, students must identify a mentor and a research lab in which to work. For full announcement and eligibility requirements, email Meris Carte, research laboratory manager for biological sciences, at meris.carte@wichita.edu. Applications are due at end of day Feb. 6.
