Food for Fines December 2 to 6

The December 2024 Food For Fines will take place Dec 2-6. Food for Fines is an initiative to support the Shocker Support Locker while providing a cheaper alternative to pay parking citations. All donations for Food for Fines can be dropped off at the Student Government’s Office in 219 Rhatigan Student Center or the Parking Services building.

Note that donations can only be accepted during the donation period and that citations can not be more than two months old. Questions can be directed to sga@wichita.edu.

Food for Fines November 4 to 8

The National Student Exchange is a national program that connects students to campuses in the United States, Canada, Guam, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands. Students who are accepted in the program are matched with a campus and get to pay WSU tuition while studying at their paired campus.

The Student Government Association is looking for students to join the Finance Commission.

The Finance Commission serves to advise and assist the student body treasurer in the execution of the funding allocations for the Student Government Association. Service to this commission will require a weekly 1.5-hours meeting on Fridays and service to the Appropriations and Student Fees Hearing processes. All sessions are in person throughout the month of April in the Rhatigan Student Center.

Students have the opportunity to cast their vote for the next officials of the Wichita State Student Government Association (SGA) from Monday, April 1 to Wednesday, April 3.

SGA is the sole governing body over all students of WSU. Embracing its motto, “Students Come First,” SGA serves as the voice of students to the university and college administration, manages the allocation of over $10.5 million dollars and represents all students at the local, state and federal government levels.

Voting can be done online via ShockerSync or in person at one of the polling stations.

Student Town Hall. Live on SGA YouTube April 5th at 2:30pm

Shockers can hear directly from Wichita State leaders at a town hall from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m. Friday, April 5 via Student Government Association’s YouTube. President Rick Muma; Shirley Lefever, provost and executive vice president; Teri Hall, vice president of Student Affairs; Student Body President Iris Okere; and Student Body Vice President Sophie Martins will lead the town hall and answer questions from Shockers.

The town hall is presented by the Student Government Association.

Join the SGA Elections Commission for the 2024 presidential and vice presidential debates to learn more about each of the ticket’s platforms.

These debates will be moderated by the Elections Commission and will be held starting at 6 p.m. Wednesday, March 20 and Monday, March 25 in 233 Rhatigan Student Center, Santa Fe Trail Room, and live streamed through SGA’s YouTube channel.
