Creative Interventions - Creative Process in Practice badge

Professionals looking to boost their skillsets can enroll in one or many of the Badge courses offered at Wichita State. These badges can not only teach you new skills, but also enhance your current knowledge base.

One such series of Badges is the Creative Interventions series, which offers a broad overview of creative, ethical and mindfulness-based approaches to practice, designed to support those working in social work, counseling, education and related areas.

Badges are bite-sized, one credit hour or less courses designed to work within the working professional’s schedule. They can be taken at your own pace and use Open Educational Resources, meaning you don’t need to pay for a textbook.

Wichita State’s Lifelong Learning program has released its fall 2025 classes, designed and free for individuals aged 60 and above.

Classes are available both online at your own pace or in person from 1-3 p.m. at the Hughes Metropolitan Complex, however only a limited number of seats are available for those who sign up for in-person classes, so register soon. Deadline for registering is Sept. 10.

Badges are bite-sized, one credit hour or less courses that can be taken at your own pace using Open Educational Resources. For the first time in three years, the Spanish program is offering SPAN 547: Spanish in the U.S. for students interested in learning more about the social context of Spanish in the United States, including the study of language and Latine health.

The course will be offered this fall and counts as an elective toward an undergraduate major in Spanish and a Master of Arts. The course is only very rarely offered, so don’t miss this opportunity to learn about Spanish and Spanish speakers in the world around you here in Kansas and in the United States.

The CRN for the course is 11829 and is from 4:30 to 5:45 p.m. Mondays and Wednesdays for the full fall semester.
