Librarians will guide you through researching, pulling together different perspectives and presenting your findings — so you can tackle your paper with confidence.

Experience the Life of Shirley Knight Exhibit: Sept. 15 – Oct. 10 RSC Cadman Art Gallery & The Looking Glass

University Libraries Special Collections invites you to step into the life of award-winning actress and WSU Alumna Shirley Knight. See Hollywood scripts, on-set photos, awards and personal letters that share her journey from Kansas to the big screen. The opening reception will be from 3 to 5 p.m. Sept. 18 at the Rhatigan Student Center’s Cadman Art Gallery & The Looking Glass.

Knight’s career spanned stage, television and film. She starred on Broadway in “Three Sisters” and “Kennedy’s Children,” appeared on TV shows like “Maverick,” “Thirtysomething,” “Law & Order” and “House,” and was featured in films including “As Good as It Gets,” “Divine Secrets of the Ya-Ya Sisterhood” and “Grandma’s Boy.”

The exhibit is on display in the Rhatigan Student Center’s Cadman Art Gallery & The Looking Glass from Sept. 15 through Oct. 10.

Help your students master the art of crafting a literature review in University Libraries’ upcoming workshop from 3 to 4 p.m. Tuesday Sept. 16 online. There is no cost to attend and with the new attendance tracking system, offering extra credit for student participation is now simpler than ever.

Participants will explore the steps of conducting thorough research, synthesizing diverse perspectives and effectively presenting findings.

  • The 24-Hour Study Room and other study areas
  • The Tech Hub
  • And other services, collections and spaces throughout Ablah Library

After the tour, in room 217 Ablah Library, participants will:

  • Explore the library website
  • Locate online articles and books through SmartSearch, A-Z Databases page and interlibrary loan
  • And identify your personal librarian

Get ready for an action-packed event at the WSU Faculty/Staff Olympics. Call your team together now for an exciting competition for all ages and athletic ability levels. Starting at 10 a.m. Aug. 7 at the Ablah Library. There will be snacks and prizes.

Activities include: Bowling, darts, javelin, relay and trivia.

Sign up your team of four, or sign up as an individual and you will be added to a team. Only 20 teams can be accommodated, so sign up sooner rather than later. The deadline to register your team is by 5 p.m. Aug. 1.
