Get ready for an action-packed event at the WSU Faculty/Staff Olympics. Call your dynamic team together now for an exciting competition for all ages and athletic ability levels. Starting at 10 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 1 at the Ablah Library. There will be food and prizes.

Activities include: Rowing, matching relay, darts, bowling, mini golf and javelin.

Don’t miss your chance to compete for prizes and showcase your skills. Sign up your team of four, or sign up as an individual, and you will be paired with a team. The deadline to submit your team is by 5 p.m. Friday, July, 26.

All WSU employees, including student employees, are welcome to participate.

Stephanie Versch, manager of library resource acquisitions services, is the 2024 recipient of the Kansas Library Association College and University Libraries Section Support Staff Award. The award honors academic library support staff for their significant contributions and dedication.

Stephanie began her journey as a library assistant in access services and later became a digital resources acquisitions specialist in technical services. She has been the manager of library resource acquisitions services since 2023.

Wednesday are for Women. Bloom & Connect: A Networking Night at GROW June 12 from 4-6 PM

The Women’s Leadership Initiative invites the campus community to its Bloom & Connect event from 4 to 6 p.m. June 12 at GROW Plant Bar, 320 S. Market Street.

This is your chance to mingle in a relaxed atmosphere or express your creativity with a DIY terrarium. Whether you’re a seasoned networker or just dipping your toes in, the event is designed for meaningful interactions without the stress.

The event is free to attend; however, there is a charge if you wish to create your own terrarium. While RSVPs are recommended, they’re not required.

University Libraries is excited to announce that from 3 to 4 p.m. May 1 at Ablah Library, it will honor the winners of the Library Research Award: Talha, Lauren, Taylor and Marcell.
