The Office of Student Success will host its Level Up Week starting Monday, Feb. 13. Stop by its events as it helps students level up in the workforce.

The schedule of events:

  • Monday, Feb. 13:
    • Career Fair prep workshop from noon to 12:45 p.m. in 262 Rhatigan Student Center.
  • Tuesday, Feb. 14:
    • Pop-up resume reviews from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Lindquist Hall lobby.
    • Shocker Learning Center open house from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in 107 Lindquist Hall.
  • Wednesday, Feb. 15:
    • Fairmount College employers and pizza from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on the first floor of the Rhatigan Student Center.
    • Advising pop-up event from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in Shocker Dining.
  • Thursday, Feb. 16:
    • Pop-up success plans from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in Shocker Dining.

First-Year Programs and the Office of Diversity and Inclusion invite students to join their syllabus party from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 24 in 142 Rhatigan Student Center. Students can bring their class syllabi and planners (electronic or paper).

Get organized and start the semester off right with supplies, goodies, light refreshments and valuable support from the transition mentors and success coaches at the event.

Student Success and First-Year Programs is hosting Bingo, Cookies and Cocoa night on Wednesday, November 16 from 5-7pm at the Rhatigan Student Center in room 265.

The Office of First-Year Programs in Student Success invites students to a Cookies and Cocoa night 5-7 p.m. on Nov. 16 at the Rhatigan Student Center, room 265. There will be various games to play as well. This event is free to attend.

The event is part of First-Year Programs in Student Success’ Mentor Meetups, where students meet with Transition Mentors. Transition Mentors help students with any questions and assist them as they transition into their first semester of college.

Student Success is seeking students to serve as transition mentors (TMs). Students in this paid position play a key role in university student success efforts by assisting with the transition of new students to Wichita State.

Transition mentors will have the opportunity to build relationships, interact with university staff and faculty and work with a team of peers during these unique leadership experiences. Applications are due Oct. 31.

If you started a degree somewhere else and are now a Shocker on your way to degree completion, Wichita State wants to celebrate you during National Transfer Student week Oct. 17-21. The week to celebrates transfer students and all the experiences they add to WSU’s classrooms and campus.

During this time, transfer students can pick up a meal ticket for a free meal at the Rhatigan Student Center (RSC) from their college advising center, OneStop, the Office of Diversity and Inclusion, Student Engagement Advocacy & Leadership, the Offices of Adult Learning or Shocker Career Accelerator.

Proud Transfer Student mugs and buttons will also be available for transfer students at Wu’s Birthday Bash 11 a.m.-1p.m. Thursday, Oct. 20 at the RSC Atrium.
