Student Activities Council (SAC) will supply slime for everyone to come and get creative with at the De-Stress Fest slime party from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursday, May 4 on the first floor of the Rhatigan Student Center by Groover Lounge.

The event is open to everyone at no additional charge, and there will be snacks and drinks available as well.

Student Activities Council will bring in Sami Halaseh students to provide free hand and neck massages for the Self-care De-Stress Fest from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursday, May 4 on the first floor of the Rhatigan Student Center, Groover Lounge.

Cindy Coughenour, founder of Fearless and Female, will instruct up to 35 participants on tactics relating to self-defense starting at 6 p.m. Thursday, March 9 in 141 Heskett Center. The workshop is hosted by the Student Activities Council.

Wichita State faculty and staff can register for the one-hour workshop at $10 plus fees and includes interactive instruction and a stabby kitty key ring. An ice cream social will follow the program.

Cindy founded Fearless and Female in 2001 as a direct response to the murder of her childhood friend, Julie Ladd. As a professional speaker and self-defense advocate, Cindy is certified and trained in many different forms of self-defense such as Krav Maga and Jane Jitsu.

Hypnotist Chris Jones will perform his mind boggling act in front of an audience at 8 p.m. Friday, Feb. 24 in the CAC Theater. Students get in at no charge, faculty and staff get in for $5, and the general public gets in for $8. No registration is required for the event.

Jones is a hypnotist, comedian and the host of the prank series Double Take on Facebook Watch. Jones is well known for his appearance on America’s Got Talent. Since his first TV appearance, Jones has performed on shows like The Steve Harvey Show, Windy City Live, Good Day Chicago, Penn and Teller, Scam School, and the Adam Carolla Show.
