Join Campus Recreation for the Wellness Expo from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday, March 4 at the Heskett Center when it transforms into a lively hub of health, learning and fun. Alongside hundreds of fellow Shockers, you’ll discover new ways to boost your well‑being through interactive activities, medical screenings and hands‑on wellness demos.

With more than 50 vendor booths — featuring experts from Wichita State departments and community partners — you’ll pick up practical tips, explore campus wellness resources and maybe even walk away with a few surprises.

As a bonus, attendees will snag a free Wellness Expo T‑shirt (while supplies last).

Whether you’re looking to check in on your health or just explore something new, the Wellness Expo is the perfect mid‑day boost.

Wichita Women's Soccer Club Team

Come cheer on the WSU Men’s and Women’s Soccer Clubs this Saturday, Oct. 18 at the Eugene M. Hughes Metropolitan Complex for an exciting day of collegiate club soccer — free admission is available for all fans.

  • Men’s soccer match is at 1 p.m. versus Northwest Missouri State University.
  • Women’s soccer match is at 5 p.m. versus Washington University in St. Louis.

Volunteers Wanted Wichita State University Pumpkin Run

Help runners stay on track by volunteering as a course guide for the upcoming Pumpkin Run from 7:50 to 11:30 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 18. No experience needed — just a smile and a sense of direction. Wichita State University’s Club Sports teams are gearing up for an exciting weekend of championship and home matches. Come out and support students:

  • Cricket Club championship match
    The WSU Cricket Club will compete for the TCSL Championship against Oklahoma State University from 10:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 13 at Dr. Glen Dey Park, located on 27th and Hillside.
  • Men’s Soccer Club home match
    The WSU Men’s Soccer Club will host Arkansas State University at 1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 13 at 1 p.m. at the Hughes Metropolitan Complex playfields.
  • Women’s Soccer Club home match
    The WSU Women’s Soccer Club will take on Missouri State University at 3 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 14 also at the Hughes Metropolitan Complex playfields.

Admission is free and open to the public.

Shocker Rowing Class Races and Learn 2 Row

Come down to the Arkansas River starting at 9 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 20 at River Vista Boathouse, 150 N. McLean Blvd. and watch the Shocker Rowing team battle it out in the Class Races. The Class Races will start off the event with a competition between the freshmen, sophomores, juniors and seniors battling it out for victory. And take your seat with Shocker Rowers during the Learn-2-Row. Have a chance to experience what rowing on the water is like. Learn-2-Row will start at approximately 10 a.m.

Free with WSU ID or $32.25 per person for Learn-2-Row.

Pumpkin Run 5k Save Money Register by 8/31

Join the annual Pumpkin Run 5K Oct. 18 at Wichita State. Whether you’re racing for a personal best or just in it for the fun, this fall tradition is one you won’t want to miss. Prices go up starting Monday, Sept. 1

Can’t join us in person? You can sign up for the Virtual Run and complete your 5K on your own schedule — anywhere, anytime. You’ll still get this year’s exclusive shirt and medal. Kids ages 10 and under can join the fun in the Little Pumpkin Run 1K. They’ll receive a 1k youth-sized T-shirt and a finisher medal — perfect for their first race.

The Pumpkin Run is proud to support Suspenders4Hope — $1 from every registration goes directly to the 2025 Charity Partner.

Shocker Rowing Smores and Oars

Kick off the semester with a laid-back evening on the river with S’mores & Oars from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 27 at Boats & Bikes, 150 N. McLean Blvd. Students get free admissions with their Shocker IDs.

Hang out with the Shocker rowing team and enjoy:

S’mores by the water
Kayaks, paddle boards and pedal boats
Yard games and chill vibes
Learn to row with the Shocker rowing crew
