Show your Shocker pride at WSU Night with the Wichita Wind Surge on Thursday, Sept. 10. Join fellow Shockers for a night at the ballpark at Equity Bank Park, 275 S. McLean Blvd. First pitch is at 6:35 p.m.

Wichita State students with a valid Shocker ID can claim up to two entry tickets by picking them up at 216 Rhatigan Student Center. Office hours are 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday through Friday.

PASS - Promoting Academic Student Success. For who? First-year students. Why apply? Bi-weekly meetings, academic support, paired mentorship. Sign ups begin Aug. 1.

Join Student Engagement & Belonging for Promoting Academic Student Success (PASS). Workshops, volunteer service and peer mentorship are all incorporated into the program dedicated to supporting first year students to find their path on campus.

Quality community is built throughout both the fall and spring semester while building each student up with the tools needed to be holistically successful. Workshop topics will vary including financial wellness, professional development, mental health, student success, involvement and more.

The application deadline is Friday, Aug. 28.

Welcomefest returns Aug. 14 through Sept. 12, bringing together events, activities and services that help new and returning Shockers connect with campus and start the semester strong.

Faculty, staff and student organizations are invited to submit events for inclusion in the official Welcomefest schedule. Approved submissions will be featured on the Welcomefest website and promoted through a variety of marketing channels, including printed materials, yard signs, social media, campus TV, newsletters and email.

If you’re planning an event during the Welcomefest campaign, submit an event by 5 p.m. Wednesday, July 22.

Kick off summer the right way at our End of the Year Block Party from 4 to 6 p.m. Thursday, April 23 at the north patio of the Rhatigan Student Center. Enjoy Just-A-Sip dirty soda and pretzel bites while you hang out with music, games and crafts. Be one of the first 100 students to score a free pair of sunglasses while supplies last.

An Evening with MatPat. April 16. Metropolitan Complex. Doors open: 6:15 p.m. Show begins: 7 p.m. Ages 13 and up. Clear bag policy. Hosted by Student Activities Council and Shocker Studios.

Matthew “MatPat” Patrick, creator of the popular YouTube series “Game Theory,” will speak at Wichita State at 7 p.m. Thursday, April 16 in the Lowe Auditorium at the Eugene M. Hughes Metropolitan Complex. Doors open at 6:15 p.m.

Tickets are $10 for WSU students, $18 for faculty/staff and $25 for the public at wichita.edu/sac. The event is for ages 13+.

MatPat will discuss his career as a content creator, gaming theorist and entrepreneur, followed by a moderated Q&A. As founder of the “Theory” channels, he has built a brand with over 45 million subscribers and nine billion views, blending science and critical thinking with pop culture.

He has also worked across film, television and live productions, collaborated with global leaders and celebrities and helped raise over $7 million for charitable causes.

Shocker Strengths Scavenger Hunt: Shock & Seek. March 23-27, Wichita State Main Campus, Follow @WichitaStateSEB.

Get ready to hunt, snap and win during Shock & Seek, happening Monday, March 23 through Friday, March 27. All 34 Shocker Strength themes have been hidden across campus, with 8-9 strength squirrels placed in new locations each day for students to find.

If you discover one, follow the instructions on the back to claim your prize. Be sure to keep an eye out for the golden squirrel. It may be trickier to find, but the reward will be even bigger. Prizes include a mini Kodak printer, Apple Watch, Razor scooter, AirPods, 43″ TV and more. New day, new hiding spots and new chances to Shock & Seek.
