Student Activities Council will host a tailgate party from 4 to 6 p.m. Friday, April 21 at Wilkins Stadium before the Shockers take on East Carolina. It will have food trucks, a sidewalk chalk competition and various games for attendees to play.

The event itself will be free and not require registration, but any food purchased at food trucks will not be covered and participation in the sidewalk chalk competition will require registration.

The Student Activities Council (SAC) will host the De-stress Fest from May 1 to May 4 and is accepting submissions from departments and organizations who would like to host a relaxing, decompressing and unwinding event for Wichita State students before finals week.

Events or workshops do not have to be 70s or groovy themed. The deadline to submit events is by Friday, March 31.

The Student Activities Council, Office of Diversity and Inclusion, Society of Women Engineers, National Society of Black Engineers, and Feminists on Campus will be screening Hidden Figures in honor of Black History Month. Screening begins at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 2 in the CAC Theater.

The movie is available to WSU students with a Shocker ID at no additional charge, to faculty and staff for $5 and to the general public for $8. Popcorn will be served, and guests are encouraged to bring their own blankets.

Prior to the start of the film, there will be a panel focusing on women and women of color as they break down barriers in the fields of STEM.

Due to unforeseen circumstances, the Student Activities Council’s comedy show with Hayden Kristal has been postponed. SAC looks forward to hosting this event in the future.

We have fun activities happening throughout the week of Dec. 5 as we celebrate De-stress Fest. You deserve to indulge in some fun before we end this semester with final exams and winter break. Shockers, Wichita State’s Student Acitivites Council will host its Campus Feud event at 7 p.m. Sept. 24, starting at 7 pm at the Campus Activies Center Theater. Bring your friends andd answer survey questions for a chance to win prizes.
