Shocker Sprints February 15 starting at 9 a.m. at the Heskett Center

Join Shocker rowing for Shocker Sprints at 9 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 15 at the Heskett Center. You must register in order to secure your spot on race day.

Test your pre-spring racing fitness in the 2K event. The 1000m team event allows you to compete in “boats” of four and race against other teams.

ErgRace Online will be used for the timing system this year.

Wichita State students can participate in the 500m at no cost. Teams and competitors without a WSU ID will sign up through Regatta Central.

Dive into a delightful experience with your furry companion at Puppy Paddle. Join the fun at 10 a.m. to noon Dec. 14 in Weidemann Natatorium at the Heskett Center for a final swim before the holiday break. Whether it’s chasing tennis balls, perfecting your jumps or racing your best friend in the water, there’s fun for everyone. For those who prefer to stay dry, the patio will be open and welcoming.

Additionally, the Wichita Animal Action League will be present with puppies in search of forever homes. The event is free to attend.

Class Race with Shocker Rowing. Learn to Row.

Come down to the Arkansas River from 2 to 5 p.m. Sept. 28 at the River Vista Boathouse, 150 N. McLean Boulevard, and watch the Shocker Rowing team battle it out in the Class Races and join Learn 2 Row immediately afterward.

The Class Races will start off the event with a competition between the freshmen and seniors battling it out for victory. Learn 2 Row will follow shortly after at approximately 3:30 p.m. where participants can learn with a current rower and have a chance to experience what rowing on the water is like.
