Civic Engagement will host a mindful crafting table from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday, March 31 on the first floor of the Rhatigan Student Center atrium. Stop by to create your own mini-Zen garden, bedazzle and personalize a book or pick up a fun “blind date with a book.”

Swing by, relax, get creative and pick up something fun to brighten your day.

Join the Community Service Board and Civic Engagement for several meaningful volunteer opportunities this spring:

  • Help clean up local rivers with Wichita Clean Streams from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. March 21
  • Connect with seniors during Senior Saturdays from 9 to 11 a.m. March 28 and April 11
  • Support the Wichita Family Crisis Center from 10 a.m. to noon April 19
  • Assist with Open Streets ICT April 19 with multiple shifts available
  • Prepare art lesson materials at The Art Park from 9 to 11 a.m. April 25

Join Wichita Clean Streams, Wichita RiverWalk Cleanup Crew and the Community Service Board for a morning of cleaning up the area around the Arkansas and Little Arkansas River from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Saturday, March 21.

Gloves, trash bags and materials will be provided. Volunteers will meet at a location determined before the event. Volunteers will be given exact location of event via email before the event. Sign up on Volunteer ICT.

Join the Community Service Board supporting Storytime Village at its annual Youth Summit. The event will take place from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday, March 6. Volunteer tasks may include helping to set-up for the event and facilitating activities and other related programming.

Book Bejeweling & Beyond: A Deliberate Dialogue Event. Tuesday, March 3. 11:30am-1:30pm. RSC Harvest Room 142.

Join the Community Service Board for Book Bejeweling & Beyond from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 3 in 142 Rhatigan Student Center, Harvest Room. Students are invited to converse about their favorite books, genres and the stories that have shaped their lives.

Interactive art stations will include book bejeweling, bookmark making and the opportunity to engage with book-themed murals. Light snacks and beverages will also be available.

Join the Community Service Board at the Kansas Food Bank Warehouse from 10 a.m. to noon March 6. Volunteers will help with sorting and organizing food that will be distributed throughout Kansas through various initiatives offered by the Kansas Food Bank. Volunteers are encouraged to wear comfortable clothing and shoes.
